Where Are We & What To Do?
Charming village in the outskirts of Bristol

The old Stables is by a main road and is only a few minutes’ walk downhill to the endearing small village of Westbury-on -Trym, with its shops, takeaways, restaurants and pubs catering for all tastes. Westbury Hill is also on the cusp of Durdham Downs, Badocks Woods and Blaise Estate with plenty of space to run or explore.

There is easy access from Hillside Old Stables to bus routes and arterial roads serving the nearby commercial Bristol City Centre, as well as the large American style Mall and retail park at Cribbs Causeway. We are also close to motorway networks M4 and M5, Hospitals and many local large businesses.

You may, of course, prefer just to tuck up in the stables with a good book, or to use the outdoor furniture in our orchard garden, which captures the afternoon and evening sun. A lovely spot for a cuppa or glass of wine to end the day.
Bristol
Should you wish to explore or work further afield, Hillside Stables is about 2 minutes' walk away from a bus stop, which is on a main city bus route.
If you jump on in one direction, you can travel as far as Bristol Temple Meads railway station, via all the main attractions of the city (about 15 mins bus ride from our stop) including its commercial centre, Bristol Old Vic & Hippodrome theatres, and a huge variety of restaurants (see below).

In the other direction, you’ll head out to Cribbs Causeway shopping mall, retail park, cinema, bowling and soon to be ice-rink.

Badminton School (and Red Maids). We're a short walk from the school, for anyone visiting or dropping off boarding students.

Eating & Drinking Locally
Hillside Old Stables has all the facilities you need to make yourself a light meal, but if you prefer to eat out, you won't be disappointed by the range of options across Bristol, or indeed within minutes walking distance in the lovely village of Westbury-on-Trym, or a slightly longer stroll into neighbouring Henleaze. There are unique and exceptional food and drink options from restaurants and hostelries who work hard all year to come up with inspired seasonal menus and drinks.
While there is plenty of local dining in the village, if you would like to explore Bristol city, buses run every 10-15 minutes into the city during main times of the day.

We are always happy to make recommendations, if you tell us where and what you fancy!
